MLS Expense Screen should show payee's address...

#1

Post by markp-p40 »

There are several payees in my ward's MLS that have multiple entries due to multiple office locations or remittance addresses, but finding the correct entry involves searching through an entirely different area of MLS. Additionally, payees will occasionally change addresses, but we don't notice until a check has been returned by the post office.

It would be really nice to have the Expense Screen display the address of the selected payee so the clerk can verify it matches the address on the bill without having to open the View/Edit Payees screen to perform a search.

I've attached a little mockup of what such a change might look like.

Nice, but why grey out the address?

Great idea!

But why not have the address be something
that is 'editable' in place? This would allow
one-time changes of payee addresses, if necessary,
without having to go through the Add/Update Payee
option twice.
If a logging issue, the printed report could
be expanded to list the full address in the payee field,
but I imagine this is well captured by the financial
transmission report.

Excellent idea, though you do have the chance to change the address when the checks are printing out (and, in my opinion, more busy trying to make sure all of the pieces of paper go to the right places). This change would allow you to verify the address earlier in the check-writing process.
