Hit counts for current site?
Is it possible to get hit counts for all pages on the current music site, maybe for the past year? I think it would help us in planning the new site. Plus, as I've been exploring the current site, I've found pages I didn't know existed:). It would be interesting to know how often they're accessed.

That information is available through Omniture. I'm not sure what the process is to give out that data.Kathryn wrote:Is it possible to get hit counts for all pages on the current music site, maybe for the past year? Take this with a grain of salt, for what it is worth I looked up lds.org on Alexa, and found some rather interesting results. And for purposes of this thread, music.lds.org did not even hit the radar on Alexa.

But there are several ways to get to the Church's music site for which the URL would not have music.lds.org as any part of it. For example, from the Music Callings and Resources page, the link to the music site is http://www.lds.org/churchmusic/0,17932,4586-1,00.htmlJamesAnderson wrote:Take this with a grain of salt, for what it is worth I looked up lds.org on Alexa, and found some rather interesting results. My guess is that relatively few hits on the music site actually use music.lds.org, so I would take any web stats on music.lds.org with a large grain of salt.
Questions that can benefit the larger community should be asked in a public forum, not a private message.

Under "How and Why We Crawl the Web," the Alexa site states, "In addition to the Alexa Crawl, which can tell us what is on the Web, Alexa utilizes web usage information, which tells us what is being seen on the web. This information comes from the community of Alexa Toolbar users" (emphasis mine). Sounds like the grain of salt is appropriateJamesAnderson wrote:Take this with a grain of salt, for what it is worth I looked up lds.org on Alexa, and found some rather interesting results. I was looking for something more precise, like internal web analytics--information which I'm sure would have to be provided by Church IT. Is it possible to get this kind of information?
