Preview copies of the MLS messages were emailed to stake clerks this morning. Thanks!! I appreciate the thoughtfulness.

Just a few comments here. I successfully downloaded the patch during the week but didn't restart that night. As I was logging out for the night, a new windows update had downloaded. I selected "Install update and shut down".

Today when I came in, MLS would not start up on at least the stake computer. I got the splash screen, but nothing else. I should mention the first time I started up, I also got a blue screen of death. A restart took care of the blue screen, but still no MLS. I restarted a couple times but ended up just downloading the 3.2.3 installer. That fixed the MLS starting problem.

New issue now. I received a yellow pop-up screen indicating a new edoc concerning CUBS would be in my inbox. I checked but nothing was there. I did a couple send/receives and checked again. There was a new message CUBS related, but dated 22 Jul 2010. I know for a fact that is not the new document. Can anyone else confirm MLS is sending down the old message again?

The patch wasn't available Wednesday night (the last time I was at our stake computer), but this morning MLS automatically downloaded the patch. As usual, MLS told me to reboot to complete the installation. As I was shutting down, I did have to wait for a Windows update to install.

But for me, the process worked fine -- when the system restarted, I had no blue screen or any other problem, and when I started MLS, version 3.2.3 came up with no problems.

I also saw the yellow popup screen saying there would be a new edoc about CUBS and was puzzled why there was no message in my MLS message inbox. I saw no new message at all -- nothing had arrived since Wednesday. But this was at 6:00am, so maybe in the meantime some other message was sent -- I can't confirm or deny that detail until tomorrow morning (and I'm guessing the message will arrive then, but that's only a guess).
Questions that can benefit the larger community should be asked in a public forum, not a private message.

Just checked this on a ward computer. The pop-up message says
MLS 3.2.3 and New Finance Functionality - Urgent

MLS version 3.2.3 has been sent down to your computer. There is important information that will explain why you need to have MLS 3.2.3 and when you will be getting the new finance functionality in your MLS messages. Please review the CUBS edoc and CUBS message in your MLS messages.

Thanks you.

MLS Support Team
This ward received no new messages in their inbox. Does this pop-up message refer back to the original message sent 22 Jul 2010?

In thinking a little more about it, I'm guessing we received no new messages either. I generally file MLS messages into subfolders by category so there are never messages sitting in the received folder. I've gotten behind and the original CUBS message was therefore the only message sitting in the in box related to CUBS at all. I assumed that was the message that was sent. My bad. It's probably not queued to come down until tomorrow.

I know that the messages were staged to be sent down yesterday. They are pretty big files so I wonder if that is why you aren't seeing them. I will check to verify that they are staged.

I just checked again. The messages still did not come to the stake, but they did make it to the ward. I've forwarded them back to the stake so I can have copies tomorrow.

In case anyone else has the same problem as I have had, I decided to attach pdf's of the documents to this post. The new local unit financial processes contains the more detailed info on CUBS.
Updating all units to MLS version 3.2.pdf
(24.14 KiB) Downloaded 290 times
NEW LOCAL UNIT FINANCIAL PROCESSES UPDATE.pdf
(50.17 KiB) Downloaded 2348 times
According to the message, Oct 17 at midnight finances will be locked out until 12 am Oct 24, at which point the migration to CUBS should be complete.

The messages had been staged but a process to distribute them had hung up. Everyone should get them now.

One of our units tried to update their computer to the newest version of MLS (they had 3.2.2) but ended up with the following message - "One or more software updates has failed to apply properly. Please contact your technology specialist for assistance."

Since I was there for their ward conference we tried doing another send/receive and ended up with the same message. I had them shut down MLS, turn off the computer, and then turn everything back on. They tried again to do a send/receive to upload the newest version (3.2.3) and had no luck since the same message popped up.

The only idea I had was to download 3.2.3 from the MLS website to a flash drive and try and install it that way.

Any ideas? I believe the Church help section is closed today or I would call them.
