Ustream?

#1

Post by abcampa »

this may be a dumb question, but is there a reason to no use something like ustream to webcast stake conference meetings?

im new to this and trying to put together some finacial numbers for this solution, but the mhw and mhr seem really expensive. Also im wondering if the webcast software will ever be Mac compatible?

im still reading ur posts and wiki, so Im trying to get a handle on this.

Thanks

albert,

One of the reasons that we developed and internal solution was control. When other services are used, many use "reflector server" technology which means that your meeting sits out there on someones server and we have no control as to how long or who has access to the meeting. There are other reasons, but that was one. The MHW software is a free download though and then it is up to you as to how much you want to spend on the supporting computer, if you don't already have what is needed. It also means that we have no hope of doing a secure transmission if/when needed.

Just a few thoughts on your question.
