Requested event belongs to a unit that is not related to the user

I assigned the chapels to the respected wards in our stake. Now I want to delete individual assignments (for a day or two) in order to have the building assigned to the stake for a stake activity. That works great by choosing "only this event", deleting the ward assignment, and assigning the building to the stake. There is one exception for one day where I get a message saying "Requested event belongs to a unit that is not related to the user"

The ward doesn't have a meeting scheduled that day yet, I'm the Stake Executive Secretary, and there is no building scheduler assigned to the building but me.

So where is the problem and how can I solve it?

I don't know exactly why you're getting that message. But if I had the situation you have I would have taken a different approach. There's really no need to change the assignments at all. Those are simply the repeating assignments that control who can schedule actual events. But since you are a building scheduler, you can simply go ahead and schedule an event for the building. Ultimately that's what you want -- an actual event that reserves the resources and will appear on the stake calendar. And since you have the special powers of a building scheduler, the steps of changing the assignments are unnecessary.

So I would recommend that you simply focus on scheduling the event. If you can do that (and I see no reason why you couldn't, unless someone has scheduled an event using the building, but you said that hadn't happened at this point), then you don't need to worry about oddities in the assignment process at this point.
Questions that can benefit the larger community should be asked in a public forum, not a private message.
