So, I and a few of my assisstant clerks have tablet computers (i.e. iPad, or Android devices) and we bring them to church. We will then use them to take pictures of new members that have moved into our ward. On my Android device I can then go to lds.org, sign in and upload the picture immediately.
However, some of my assisstants have iPads. Since the upload portion of the directory uses Flah they have to go home, transfer the picture to their desktop/laptop computer, then upload the photo there.
My question is: Is there any plan to move away from the Flash upload feature and possibly go to something that can also work on iPads?

We will probably replace the flash uploader at some point with a javascript uploader. We have designs for the new uploader, but it is not yet scheduled and the technology to implement the design is not completely decided yet. It could be as early as the 2.1 release (in the next few months), but I can't say anything for certain at this point.
