problem uploading attachment on Classic Ward site

#1

Post by carsonm »

I am a STS, and I had a ward web site administrator let me know today that she was not able to upload a PDF file of their newsletter to the classic site. The message she recieved was that she could not add any file over 1 MB in size. She had the ward newsletter specialist create a new PDF file. The new file was .55 MB in size. The administrator tried to post the new file and could not. She recieved the same message of not having a file over 1 MB.

Any ideas of why this is happening and what can be done to fix the issue?

Thanks.

I just tried this, and I can save the news and information item just fine when the attachment is under 1 MB; I only get the error message when the attachment is indeed too big.

Is there any chance it is user error (the website administrator didn't really attach the new, smaller file)? You could have the ward web site administrator send you the PDF file, and then you could try to create a news and information item with that attachment.
Questions that can benefit the larger community should be asked in a public forum, not a private message.

Thanks for the quick response. figured out the issue, the specialist had sent out a 2nd file and that was about a few kb smaller but still over the 1 MB area. the attached file was showing like 1,020 KB but on the desktop .99 MB in size. Reqeusted a much smaller file, so it will definately work next time.
