vers 2.3 available yet?

I just tried un-installing and installing it again from the Play store. It installed version 2.2.0.7 again. Any more suggestions?

What version of Android are you on? I'm wondering if they upped the minimum required and that's all the higher your device can go.

It says kernel version 2.6.32.9. Would you know if I'd be able to update my android version myself if I need to? or would i have to buy a new phone or upgrade my phone os at my t-mobile store?

I was referring to Android version.

Typically there's no friendly way to upgrade the Android version short of replacing the phone, but there are alternative ROMs out there for the technically adventurous.

I guess it might be firmware... although I thought kernel had something to do with the os as well.

None of them. On the phones I have on-hand, it's called "Android version" and found under Settings > About Phone. I assume you're looking in the same place since that's where I find the other items as well.

But the mention of "Froyo" confirms my suspicion about the age. According to Google's current numbers, Froyo only makes up 0.7% of the visitors to it's Play Store, so it's not going to get much developer love.
