Something is wrong with callingmanager.com. Has anybody else tried it lately? It now just points us to the LCR instead of generating the data needed…help

Re: Tool for managing callings
It was working about a week ago when I checked last. I’ll have a chance to take a look at it on Monday. It’s possible a change was made regarding how the data is presented.gleedog wrote: Sat Dec 18, 2021 8:30 pm Something is wrong with callingmanager.com. Has anybody else tried it lately? I’ll make a follow up post here once I know more.

Re: Tool for managing callings
Well it does look like LCR has changed how they present calling data. I will continue digging into it, but at first glance yesterday it appears they are no longer making all calling data available in an easy to parse JSON file.

An update has been posted to callingmanager.com which resolves the issue. Should be working again now. Thanks for reporting it!gleedog wrote: Sat Dec 18, 2021 8:30 pm Something is wrong with callingmanager.com. Has anybody else tried it lately? Re: Tool for managing callings
I've actively been using this tool in my bishopric the last few months (only after scanning the code and using your proof of security to make my bishop comfy) - it's wonderfully helpful in the often complex discussions of callings changes!
However, just today, I noticed the LCR callings data page comes up blank. I don't think it's a callings permission thing, since that usually results in bumping me back to the LCR home screen. I hope you're still around and monitoring this thread, jds, to take a look at it please.
Thanks!

Thanks for reporting this! I just gave it a try and noticed the same behavior.digitalwei wrote: Sat Apr 15, 2023 9:13 am However, just today, I noticed the LCR callings data page comes up blank. I suspect the LCR link has changed. Hopefully the data is still available just at a different URL. I’ll have to look into this a bit later on but will follow up here once I know more.
I’m glad to hear you are finding it helpful!

Re: Tool for managing callings
Callingmanager.com should be working again now. The church updated the location of calling data within LCR, so thankfully all that was needed to fix "Callings by Organization" was the updated link.digitalwei wrote: Sat Apr 15, 2023 9:13 am I noticed the LCR callings data page comes up blank. Unfortunately, out-of-unit calling data is now presented in a modified format so the app is not able to correctly parse data from it. I've made a note of that for users on the website, and will have to look into it more before those are ready to go.
Thanks so much for reporting this!

Re: Tool for managing callings
Excellent, many thanks! Yes, I neglected to mention the out of unit calling data hasn't worked for a while, sorry. Hopefully you can fix it as it would be quite useful. Also, one request while you're in the code -- it would be great if you could show set apart info in the position drop downs. It's one of those things that's been tricky for us to keep track of, and there's no real good report in LCR to show this across the board (and/or show that data in the printout).
By the way, the new json page no longer forces us to log in first. It merely fails, giving the message:
{"error":"not_authenticated","description":"The user does not have an active session or is not authenticated"}
It will only show the data once you've logged into the LCR, but this is a minor thing.
Thanks again!

Thanks for noticing that. I updated the instructions to mention you must log into LCR first.digitalwei wrote: Tue Apr 18, 2023 8:15 am Excellent, many thanks! Setting apart information is now visible when you expand a person's calling details as well.
If you are comfortable using the inspect/developer tools window in your browser, you can show calling details globally for everyone rather than having to click on each name.
- Expand one calling
- Right click on Set Apart and/or Sustained then select "Inspect"
- In the styles section look for .setapart (or .sustained for sustained) and uncheck display: none

Re: Tool for managing callings
In LCR if you go to the Members with Callings, under Organisations/Callings, then click on the label Set Apart. This will bring up all those who haven’t been set apart to the top of the list!digitalwei wrote: Tue Apr 18, 2023 8:15 am Also, one request while you're in the code -- it would be great if you could show set apart info in the position drop downs. You can then click on all those not set apart, then go to the Print button and select the appropriate option there!
Hopefully this is what you’re after!
