We are experiencing this issue exactly as posted tried set up a new event and the same thing no go and it is stake conference tomorrow

What problem? Note that you are responding to a thread that's over 3 years old. There's been a number of changes since then.
You should be able to schedule an event and set up the Vidu manually. Do make sure you have current firmware on the Vidu.
