Damaged hymn books

For anyone finding this (relatively old) thread, and wanting to know what to do if they have damaged hymn books, my suggestion would be to not order new ones even if the online store has that option.

Instead, I'd ask around your neighboring wards and/or stakes. I expect there are likely a number of units around any of us, that have plenty of unused new hymnals they've been keeping for replacements. And given the relatively short timeframe before we start receiving new hymnals (two or three years to go), I also expect there will end up being a lot of units that have to just throw away large numbers of brand new (or almost brand new) hymnals once the new ones are available.

The Church hasn't stated anything regarding transition plans or suggestions, so they may end up saying something different. So just something to consider if anyone finds this thread.

Whom are you asking? This is a user-to-user discussion forum with participants all over the planet. Shipping cost, even within a country, would likely be higher than purchase price for a new book.
