I think you have to have a "bang" for attempted murder. Cocking would only be terroristic threatening. ;)

Gotta be careful about those ultimatums. Someone just might say "OK".

I think Ben really wanted those Legumes back and was willing to put everything down for the cause.

I need to be more careful. It is a dangerous world out there.

Hope you find your recipes. If they are no longer there, or at least no longer linked to, perhaps some change is in the works. I'm wondering if it was felt that recipes was over-reaching the central mission of the site and they are moving them to a better venue for that kind of stuff.

Of course, seeing how people hang on to PAF because "it's Church software", perhaps there was re-thinking of "Church recipes".

Then again, maybe I'm all wet.

Well if they could reference other sights that would contain those recipies, similar to the e-readers for the many different formats then people could still use it as a jumping off point.

Content on Church sites

I don't know if you have noticed, but the Church's sites very rarely link to external sites. I think that it may infer that the Church officially endorses them by having the link. I know that when Church Correlation reviews the contents of most of the LDS sites, they are really concerned about perception of the public and where people might misconstrue the intent of Church leadership.

Some of the few exceptions are the Newsroom (newsroom.lds.org) and this site (tech.lds.org). The first often needs to quote other media sources related to the Church and the latter is obviously publicly submitted content rather than Church generated content.

Well, back to the actual topic of this tread (legumes), I'm guessing that you are on the right track when you suggest that the recipes may be disappear because they shouldn't be considered "officially endorse recipes by the Church". It is sad that we can't just appreciate them for what they are, but in this litigious society we have to be careful of not only what is explicitly said but what someone might infer from it. (I have heard rumors that the Church is already constantly dealing with legal suits against them.)

I was referring to the same practice they had with Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs). If you look at the page for tech support http://lds.org/handheld/support/0,6481,345-1,00.html for the Digital Library it just has a bunch of links to external sites. Just was thinking that they could do the same with recipes.

Hope that clarifies my comment.
