Re: View Boundaries in maps.lds.org
With the no-cost magazine subscriptions being phased in by area, it's important for a member to be able to find what area his/her stake is in. I searched around for a way to find area boundaries or a statement of which area my stake is in--to no avail. Is there a way to find out which area one's stake is in?

Your leaders should know and, if they do not, your ward clerk is able to look it up quickly in CDOL, the online Church Directory of Organizations and Leaders.rmrichesjr wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 5:39 pm With the no-cost magazine subscriptions being phased in by area, it's important for a member to be able to find what area his/her stake is in. Another method I suggest with no guarantee of accuracy is to look up the Wikipedia article entitled Area (LDS Church). The article lists all of the missions of the Church under their respective areas. So if you know which mission you are in, you will be able to search the page and find the Area to which that mission is assigned.
A third method, again requiring that you know the name of your mission, is to look up the Newsroom articles for the announcement of new mission presidents for the last three years. A mission president serves for three years. Your mission will be listed in one of those articles under the area to which it is assigned.
Granted, these last two methods require that you know the name of your mission. If you do not know it, ask one of the elders or sisters serving in your ward. Every stake is in a mission. Every mission is assigned to an area.

If you go to Ward Directory and Map under the nine-dot menu at the top right, it will take you to a map of your ward. If you click on Missionary at the bottom left of the page, the page will display your mission boundary.

And, the upper left-hand corner shows the name of the mission for anyone who might not know that already.

The simplest way would simply be to go to MagazineSubscriptions.ChurchofJesusChrist.org and see if you can sign up.rmrichesjr wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 5:39 pm With the no-cost magazine subscriptions being phased in by area, it's important for a member to be able to find what area his/her stake is in. Currently, it appears the only North America area that can sign up is North America West. At this point there's only one phase left to go and that's on February 1, 2024.

Interesting. I had determined that I'm in the North America West Area, so (in theory) I should be able to sign up. When I went to the page to 'Subscribe', I got "Page Not Found". Being as this branch of the thread has drifted from boundaries on maps to the no-cost subscription program, I'd propose moving further magazine-related discussion here: viewtopic.php?t=37956 (Magazine subscriptions).

Go to the Meetinghouse Locator and input the address there to see the unit(s) serving that address.
