Since my last post, I discovered that you don't need to change the Zoom account you logged in using Google. When you created your Zoom account the first time whatever means you used to authenticate is listed under your profile under "Sign-Email" as a Link accounts. If you only have the "google" icon listed you won't be able to authenticate to the local unit Zoom account. There is a way to add an email address as a linked account. This is an article from Zoom's KB https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articl ... -Accounts- .
Hope you find this helpful.

Re: Church provides a new Zoom Account to local units
I have confirmed that I have the Stake Assistant Clerk - Technology Specialist calling in addition to my Stake High Councilor calling and I'm unable to see the Zoom option. All I get is "Congratulations, your new Google Account is available!". I read earlier that someone was suggesting its possibly due to multiple callings. Is this confirmed? Thanks

There appears to be a problem for those with multiple callings that is not allowing the option.dpgriffi wrote:I created the new google account before I was an Assistant Clerk -- Technology Specialist. I am now the STS. I still do not have the option to create the new zoom accounts. Any way to make an adjustment?

When I try to use a ward email account, it gives me an error, when i try to use my personal e-mail account it accepts it. Why can't I use my ward email? My zoom account is tied to the ward email account, so I would like to link the two together.

How do you authenticate to Zoom using the ward email account? Do you enter the email address & password, or are you using Google or Facebook login?cuccardi wrote:When I try to use a ward email account, it gives me an error, when i try to use my personal e-mail account it accepts it. Re: Church provides a new Zoom Account to local units
I am the STS and am having difficulty setting up accounts at meet.churchofjesuschrist.org. When I submit an email address associated with a prior, locally-purchased zoom account, I simply get an error message. The PDF document "Transfer Local Unit Zoom Account to General Church Account" available on the site indicates it should work. Anyone else having a similar problem?

Yes, a lot of people are.jwrichards wrote:I am the STS and am having difficulty setting up accounts at meet.churchofjesuschrist.org. When I submit an email address associated with a prior, locally-purchased zoom account, I simply get an error message. Anyone else having a similar problem?
Question: How have people been logging into this Zoom account in the past? Was it via email/password, or where they using Google or Facebook login?

Re: Church provides a new Zoom Account to local units
We have seen two primary issues since the deployment of the Zoom accounts announcement:
- "Error Cannot create a new Zoom Account" - this is an issue with Zoom allowing the existing email address to be transferred to the Church account. If you get this message you have two options:
1) Complete the feedback form in the portal indicating you received this message and provide the email address(es) that didn't work. We will work with Zoom to see if we can get the email address transferred.
2) Use a different email address. If the existing email address is associated with a paid account, you will need to cancel that account through Zoom for billing to stop.
- "Error System cannot find the church units....." - this usually means you are trying to access the Zoom account creation page but you are not an STS. Please contact your STS in order to complete the account request process. If you were just assigned as an STS in LCR, I've been told it can take as long as 24 hours for the change to propagate through all systems.
If you run into other issues, please submit feedback through the portal. You may not hear back immediately, but we will reach out to you. Thanks!

Re: Church provides a new Zoom Account to local units
I'm also an sts and get the option to create a Zoom account. Has anyone tried to transfer a Ward paid Zoom account to a Church account. It gives me an error that I'm assuming is because the email address is already in use in the Zoom system. Has anyone succeeded?
