The click region for me is as I highlighted in yellow in the uploaded image. Clicking outside the yellow does nothing. I'm using IE8, Win7.

A couple of questions to possibly help determine where the issue is:
Do you have compatibility view turned on or off?
Is your browser maximized, and does it make a difference at all when you resize your browser window to different sizes?
Do you have another browser installed that you can test it on like Chrome or Firefox?
I couldn't reproduce it on either Chrome or IE, so I am not able to know if any of those things make a difference, but it sounds like an issue with the browser not rendering the elements correctly. Just my guess though.
