Need help removing virus in our computer!

Thanks for all your help. We have though about trying the idea of rebooting the computer as you have told us but before doing so we tried some attempts first. And we were able to resolve the problem without having to reboot the whole system. We used the command prompt to stop the virus from processing. And having done so, temporarily installed avg antivirus and cleaned the virus. Our symantec antivirus has not been working efficiently, though we have constantly been updating it. Could there be something wrong with our symantec software? We have uninstalled the avg and reinstalled our symantec antivirus because as I have known avg is not an allowed software. But is there anyway that we can make our symantec antivirus more efficient in protecting our computers?:)

Many viruses know how to disable or cripple popular AV programs, like Symantec, McAfee, etc. You can try to reinstall Symantec (first removing AVG, of course), but if that doesn't work, re-imaging your system shouldn't be that difficult an undertaking and may be the only way to get things 100% back to "normal".

Some viruses will open "back doors" security issues that may not get corrected when the virus is removed. I'd suggest re-imaging just to avoid any future problems.

You sure are right. We will work on continually reimaging our computer to avoid problems. Thanks.
