Hello everyone. My husband has been called as Ward History Specialist and even with the great examples provided on the LDS.org website, we are still a bit confused. By chance, would anyone be willing to share even just a snip-it of their ward history form/template/idea please?

I sent you a pm with my email address - send me an email and I'll reply with several examples I've done in past years.

Hello everyone,
I have just been called as ward clerk and my Bishop informed me that I need to create a ward history for 2021 asap. Is there a guide ot template that we can follow? I am assuming that I can put together a list of. Ward events for the past year, but are there any specific evemts that we need to include? Would Baptisms funerals, activities or trunk or treat be good examples? Any help is appreciated.

Review the Stake, District, and Mission Annual Histories page. It has the forms, training materials, and sample annual histories.

As a former ward and stake clerk, I was frustrated that we were still using paper for the annual history. I was pushing for a simple online process ten years ago, if you look back at the beginning of this thread. Who else would like to have this added to LCR, so the flow from a ward organization leader, ward clerk, stake clerk and historic department is all completed online? Please share your input with your leaders, as those monitoring this forum aren’t in a position to make these changes. Good luck!

Please note that the old booklet "2014-05-00-stake-district-and-mission-annual-histories-eng.pdf" is rather dated, especially the Electronic Submissions section, which tells you to send a single file no larger than 12MB in size by email.

See the "Send Large Files (FileSend)" here for a more modern electronic submission method:
https://history.churchofjesuschrist.org ... specialist

It provides a type of dropbox for stake clerks to upload their annual history.

I was told a couple of years ago that the Church had started to work on a centralized system for Wards and Stakes Annual Histories with a standardized format. But then came the "C" thing and then Delta and then the "O" thing and since they are still with us not even a peep or a hint has been leaked. Those who are responsible for gathering Annual Histories should be aware of the difficulties involved in those at the front lines have in compiling these reports. We never get any feed back on how the Church Annual Histories World wide are doing as they must be just as stretched as we are for qualified resources that are capable of preforming at an above average standard. It would be nice to have a world wide forum where we can raise issues and have input into what the real issues on the "front lines" are.

Yes and not a word about ward and branch histories. I am the executive secretary in the Cache 1st Branch in Logan, Utah. I recently completed the history for last year, 2021, and now working on the current year. I probably have been including too much; the speakers and what they said, the testimony meeting comments and who said them and notes from the Elders meeting also. I would like to know what should be included.
