Last name of member was changed by virtue of a civil marriage. The new name reflects accurately on the member records of both the member and spouse, but the name of the member whose last name changed is still the old last name in MLS listings (e.g., can't find the member under the new married name in the Individual Records pull down list. Still shown with old name). Should a member refresh be done?
Check the records for the member. There's 2-3 places in MLS that hold names: Legal name, Preferred name and Household name. Check all of them. My guess is that the household name did not update. And since the directory lists by households .....
The legal surname, preferred name, and household name listed for the member are all showing as correct. However, the pull-down list (or select a member list) when selecting the Individual Record to review still shows the former last name; she is not listed with her new last name.
Thanks for the feedback. It was a head scratcher on how everything could be up to date in MLS but MLS itself will still displaying wrong info.
