Hey, at least it lets you see ward boundaries across the world.

Only certain callings, most members can only see boundaries within their stake

Where did you get that information? I can confirm a member with no special privileges can view the boundaries of a unit outside their home stake.

Ok I just checked and they have added the ability for any member to see ward and stake boundaries worldwide.
New feature from last time I used the maps, please disregard my previous post.

On the map itself. Sign in to LDS.org, and then go to Sign In/Tools > Maps. If you have the correct permissions (which a ward clerk will), you'll be able to move household location markers.
