I am trying to install FamilySearch Indexing on my Chromebook, where I have installed Xubuntu on the side. I get the usual error for 64-bit processors, but I do not have a 64-bit processor. Here is my attempt:

Code: Select all

@localhost:~/Downloads$ uname -a
Linux localhost 3.4.0 #1 SMP Thu Apr 11 12:05:12 PDT 2013 armv7l armv7l armv7l GNU/Linux
@localhost:~/Downloads$ bash Indexing_unix_3_17_7.sh
Unpacking JRE ...
Preparing JRE ...
Indexing_unix_3_17_7.sh: line 217: bin/unpack200: cannot execute binary file
Error unpacking jar files. The architecture or bitness (32/64)
of the bundled JVM might not match your machine.
I have tried lots of different things. Help?

The message say that may be wrong "architecture" this means x68, motorola, ARM, solaris, eccetera OR wrong bitness.
And it say that this relate to the bundled JVM.
I don't know if there is an installer only with java program files without bundled JVM.
This could be a solution. Installing JVM for arm processor and then only java indexing files.

Did you ever get Indexing installed on the Chromebook, and if so, did you have to do it on the xubuntu install, or did the Chrome OS handle it ok?
