How to view the lessons for 2014

#1

Post by mdantasf »

Hi,

I have a question about the lessons schedules. I would like to know the schedule is automatically generated and we should just enter your dates and dates of general conference and Stake conference.

We note that for the year 2014 dates are empty. I am currently serving in the Stake and would like to feed the calendar with our President of the Stake Sunday School.

Happy new year to all! :)

If you click on Help in the upper right corner, and look for Rights and Roles under Setting Up Lesson Schedules, you will see:

Rights and Roles
Administrators for Lesson Schedules include bishoprics, clerks, executive secretaries, and ward website administrators.

Lesson Schedules is not available at the stake level, but stake leaders and clerks have administrative rights for their own ward so that they can learn how the application works and provide training and support to ward administrators.

Organization leaders, such as elders quorum presidents and Sunday School presidents, as well as their counselors and secretaries, have rights to add classes for their organization but not events.

Thanks for the instructions, but still have a doubt: a list of classes this year (2014) is already filled in automatically by the system or site LDS.org leaders have to do this manually register?

There are some default classes made available. But these classes are not complete. The events such as general conference, stake conference, and possibly ward conference need to be added. Only ward administrators can do this. If you are going to use the default classes as they are provided they will need further setting up. The events that are added will replace lessons on the dates of the events. If you want the lessons to be postponed rather than replaced then the "Insert missing lessons" link/tool should/can be used to restore the missing lessons. Additionally instructors can be added.

The default classes may not be all the classes needed. There may be other classes such as the Aaronic Priesthood classes, Young Women classes, Relief Society class, High Priest Group class, and Elders Quorum class, that need to be created. The classes for the RS, HPG, and EQ will need to have first, fourth, and fifth Sunday lessons added and so on.

Each unit's specific organization set up for Sunday classes and lessons is going to be different. The default classes provide a starting point and an example to help units set up the classes for each year.

More information about Lesson Schedules, to include setting up Lesson Schedules, is found in the Lesson Schedules Help documentation.

The automatic course generation was disabled for 2014 (although in some cases it may have been triggered for your unit before it was disabled). But going forward it will basically be up to each unit to create the courses that are available in their unit.
