Missionary AreaBook App

#1

Post by brockap3 »

Could someone please give some information on this AreaBook App the missionaries have on their iPad mini's? At least someone we can speak with to learn about beta testing?
I understand it has only been a few select areas that have received iPad mini's but now that they are suppose to go to nearly all USA, Canada, Japan, and Western Europe missions, I would think a developer community would be good to include on this. Not to mention the uses this app has for the local leadership of every ward. Thank you anyone for your input or direction to the folks in charge.

I assume you provided your contact information so the OP can contact you off line or outside the forum. Others may want to see this dialogue to become better informed. Please continue the dialogue in the forum so others can benefit - unless, of course there is information the general public should not know.

Are the apps available on the iTunes store? If not, is there a way to see screenshots? I'm really interested in the development.

This page is run by missionaries who use iPads, I think – if you have specific questions, you can ask them there:
https://www.facebook.com/missionipads
I've had one of my questions answered through the page, about whether the LDS Music app is on missionary iPads (it is).

The Area Book app is currently being used by missionaries, but I don't think it will be made available publicly (i.e. on the App Store); or, if it is, it will be dependent on you having a missionary-related calling.

I haven't seen the Area planner app, but I do have a door to door mapping app that can be used if needed.
