I found the problem and it is calling related in a way. I was looking in my home ward to make the changes. That is where I do not see the edit capability - weird. But when I go to the unit in which I am serving as an out of unit clerk I can make edits to my household. Go figure.

That sounds like a bug to me. I'd report it.
