gemawards.com has two great styles of missionary plaques as well as a large selection of missionary plaque scripture ideas. I've been very happy with their products.

I'd just suggest doing a Google search and clicking on the top result. Or going with the company with the most product reviews. Just my opinion. ;)

Has anyone ordered a plaque for a young adult serving a local service mission? Looking for ideas what to do for mission name and the normal map.

I order my missionary plaques from LDSBookstore.com they are the cheapest. We have also been waiting to order them until the missionary is about to come home. You can get all of the information before they leave and just have the plaque made before they get home. It works well since we don't have anywhere to display them.

Our ward has used McGee's but we've had to carefully proofread the plaques for typos when picking up our order. We've had several misspellings of missionary names or mission names. (e.g. Nevadas Las Vegas vs. Nevada Las Vegas) Feels like their engraver is sloppy at data entry/transfer from the online ordering system to whatever software is used.

Missionary plaques are tradition, not doctrine. I don't think there are any church guidelines on them other than what the stake president allows and what the FM group provides for displaying them. In my experience, we would give the plaque to the family if they moved before the missionary returned. We always gave the plaque to the missionary upon return and that would be difficult if we kept it after the family moved away.
