Can't log in to LDS Tools

Church Account is the primary user account (user name and password) for accessing online Church resources. Church Account was formerly known as LDS Account. This forum is a space to discuss all things related to Church Accounts (registration, account recovery, user experience, vulnerabilities, etc.).

Can't log in to LDS Tools

Trying repeatedly to access LDS Tools. After entering username and password, message is that info cannot download, to try again later. This has been a couple of weeks.

Have you tried a different network connection? The one you are using might be blocking it. But a outdated version would be an issue as well.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

iPad Air and iPhone. Have tried in 2 locations. Hubby's devices log on just fine.

Assuming you're using the app with the newer design (aqua blue UI), tap "More" (bottom right corner), then Help. At the bottom of the Help screen you can see your app's version number. Make sure you're running version 3.0.2. If not, you'll want to go to the App Store and check for updates.

when i tap onto the tools app the blue screen shows but than goes off without opening any further.
What should I do to fix this frustration?

If you're on iOS, and the app closes after about 30 seconds, it's likely the OS that's causing the app to close. iOS automatically closes any app if it takes more than 30 seconds to launch. This same issue has affected Gospel Library from time to time.

You can try to increase the available RAM temporarily by closing other apps that you may have open (go to the recent apps screen and swipe other apps away to close them). This might help Member Tools to launch more quickly (avoiding the 30-second timeout). Another thing you could try is opening the app while in airplane mode (in case the process that's taking too long has to do with the app fetching an update over the internet). If neither of those options work, you may need to send feedback.

The best place to send feedback for Member Tools is through the app, under More > Help > Contact Us – but if you can't launch the app, you can use the feedback link at the bottom of the Church website.

Unable to log into LDS TOOLS. If i reset password, it only changes the password to the church website. Does not work with LDS Tools.

If you are using the pin feature to log into the app it will be using the old password. If you cannot get into the app to sign out and then sign back in using the new password then uninstall the app and then reinstall it. This will force the app to use the new password.
