Even as moderators here at the Forum, we are on the same side of things as you. We make our requests through the regular feedback channels just as you do.
Perhaps the reason that Sunday School teachers cannot view their class members is that those who make these decisions have decided that the Sunday School presidency is able to provide this information where needed. Perhaps the request has been approved and is on the list of things to do but does not have sufficient priority yet to be accomplished by the limited number of developers who work on these and other more important things.
They do not tell us the status of these requests. As jdlessley said, the system works in accordance with the business rules given to the development teams in ICS by the sponsoring Church committees, councils, and departments. The development teams do not report to us.
