Not all unit calendars push to external calendar viewer

Our ward has ten sub-calendars, such as Ward Activities, Young Men, Young Women, etc. Not all of these calendars show up in an external calendar viewer, such as Mozilla Thunderbird or on an iPhone. Both of these viewers view an email account to which the calendar has been added via URL (http://www.lds.org/church-calendar/serv ... xxxxxxxxxx). Does anyone else have this problem?

I'm puzzled by what a "external calendar viewer" is. I only know 3 ways to see the calendar: The calendar page on lds.org, LDS Tools, and the sync URL. All of them are limited by the subscriptions set on the lds.org page. You have to expand the left panel with the ">>" button to see the subscription sliders. (The checkboxes are NOT subscriptions.)

Note that the sync url comes with a restriction, "This URL is provided for your own personal use. It should not be shared with anyone else."

The sync url can be used on the Google Calendars site to view it there via web browser. I would consider this an external viewer. Google Calendar entries can then be viewed by other applications to which permission is given to manage the calendar, such as on an iPhone or through Mozilla Thunderbird. These applications are not able to modify the lds.org calendar, only view it.

The sync is still limited by what is subscribed to on the lds.org page. In addition, the calendar updates when Google feels like it - typically once every 24 hours. This is true even if you remove and re-add the URL as Google caches the results of the URL. So, even if you update your subscriptions, it will take some time before it shows up.
