Bishop's wireless printer setup?

What is required to allow printing to a wireless printer in the bishop's office? Haven't had success in getting this to work. Thank you!

Join the printer to the building's WiFi. You'll want to assign it a static IP address. Unless you want to risk random people printing random things to it you'll want to add security of some kind.

Is this still possible now that the WiFi has changed and you have to login from a device each day?

This worked when before they changed it to Liahona but since then I can’t seem to get the printer setup again. Suggestions, or are we out of luck?

Your stake technology specialist should know how to assign the printer so that it is not required to acknowledge the sign on splash screen.

Some printers use Direct wireless printing, which bypasses Wi-Fi and allows your device to connect directly to the printer.

As a Stake Technology specialist, yes we know how to assign the printer a static IP. That did not solve the problem for the printer I am working on. It worked on LDSAccess, it does not work on Liahona anymore, and I cannot figure out why, so if anyone has any other suggestions, I would love to hear them!

Can you please provide the make and model of the printer AND the make and and model of the device he's trying to print wirelessly with?

How did you assign the static IP? If you went to the device itself, you might have assigned it an IP outside of the PUBLIC range. If it's outside off 192.168.108.x to 192.169.111.x, it's not going to work.

As long as the communication is truely peer-to-peer, it shouldn't need to deal with the "NoSplash" policy. But if it needs to communicate to the internet, it will need to be added to that policy. The addition of the splash screen is the biggest difference between the old LDSAccess and Liahona.

Through the Tech Manager. I culled Church Support, turns out the printer is the responsibility of the FM group, so they are apparently working on it now.

I would love any help with this myself. We have some wards who have resorted to buying wireless switches and plugging them in to the ethernet jack and then plugging the printer in with ethernet. My concern with that is security because the MLS computer is also plugged into this wireless switch. Almost all of our wards are using the Xerox Phaser 3330 laser printers. I can get them to log in to the liahona network, but I am unable to add them to the no splash policy. I can manually enter the MAC address, but the printer never shows up in connected devices and is never assigned an IP address. I cannot even assign it a static IP address because it doesn't recognize the MAC address. I called GSC and they told me this isn't supported. I asked why MHTECH gives instructions on how to add a printer to the group policy and was told they don't know, but setting up wireless printers isn't supported.
