putting marriage information onto tree

Post by Meliljan »

There seems to be no way of putting dates of marriages into pedigrees on the free site. Filling in "person" asks for birth, baptism, death, but no marriage and cannot find a way to do so. Can you help?

On Family Tree there's a difference between personal information (which applies to just one person) and relationship information (which applies to two persons for a couple relationship, or three persons for a parent-child relationship). To add marriage information, you need to go to the couple relationship.

To do this in Family Tree, go to the person's page. In the Family Members section, look at the box that contains the father and mother. On the right edge of that box is a pencil icon that allows you to edit the relationship details. When you click on that, you'll see a popup that contains a section called "Marriage Events" -- there you can click "Add Event" and supply marriage details.
