Trying to find best way to take pictures of supporting invoices for check disbursements in LCR. I have an Apple I Phone, Someone says I must email the photos. Need step by step procedures if possible.

The software doesn't require that the photos be emailed, but you need to figure out the process in your ward. I would visit with your stake clerk and see if he has direction for you.

Here is what happens in our ward:

If a member is requesting reimbursement for items that are coming from an auxiliary budget, we have them email a picture of the receipts to the auxiliary president. That allows them to review the expense so that they are aware of how it affects their budget. The auxiliary president then forwards that email to the finance clerk for processing. That process replaces the auxiliary president's signature on the old paper form we used to have.

When we have paper receipts, whoever is processing the expense takes a quick picture with their phone and attaches those to the expense.

I just had the realization that we have a scanner (printer combo) attached to the clerk's computer. I guess that would simplify our process when handling paper. Guess what I'm working on on Sunday?

You may find it more of a hassle. I'd suggest installing Microsoft Office Lens on the phones in question. It helps straighten/crops the photo. I think most would find that more convenient than trying to get to the scanner in the clerk's office.

I think he means that he could use it (as financial clerk) when he's given a paper receipt and needs to process it while in the clerk's office. Personally I use our printer/scanner for those cases. Taking a picture and then transferring it to the clerk computer is a lot more work than using the scanner (even though the scanner isn't as easy to use as a phone). I guess I could try to enter the expense directly on my phone but my typing speed on the computer is much faster so I still think it's easier.

I use Office Lens when taking pictures using the phone, but eblood66 is right that it is a hassle to get the pictures from the phone to the clerk computer and would be much easier to use the printer/scanner attached to the clerk computer.

After taking picture of receipts, how do I put the data into a file in the hard drive so I pull it up on the
Check writing screen to put it in LCR as backup for the expense?

Assuming the picture was taken on a smartphone there are various options that require various degrees of knowledge:

1. Use a USB cable to connect the phone directly to the computer and copy the file.
2. Use an online file storage service like Google Drive or Dropbox and upload the file from the phone and then download on the computer.
3. Email the file to an online email account like Gmail or Outlook.com and then open the account on the computer and download the file. For many this may be the easiest.
4. If the desktop computer supports Bluetooth you can also use a Bluetooth file transfer. This is pretty direct and easy but I doubt that most clerk computers support Bluetooth.

If you have an Android phone, there's a good chance you can go to https://photos.google.com/login
Log in with your google/gmail account and you can download the photos from there.
