SAME! I have deleted and re-downloaded the LDS tools app. I changed my password so there's only letters and numbers. It lets me sign in on a browser but just not the app. Help!

I would add that it seems that I am only encountering sign in issues on the iOS version of LDStools when using an iPhone XS Max with the current iOS 12.2 beta. I guess the issue would be that the app would force a sign-in even after a sync and would be stuck on the sign screen. FaceID works but that didn’t work either. Fresh install worked briefly before it went back to the sign in screen..However, the app is working correctly on my 2018 iPad also running the iOS beta with the latest version of the app.

I am having the exact same issue as described as others. iPhone app, last Sunday it wouldn’t let me sync (which it forced me to due to turn since last sync). Since then I cannot get in. Steps I have done:
Confirmed I can log into the website on both my phone and computer just fine, with the correct password.
Reinstalled the iPhone app, but it will not take my password if I use the faceID or not. I CAN sign in just fine via web interface. But it is clunky in comparison to the app, which I use to look people up so I can know who to look for, in still learning peoples names! Haha.
Open app, sign in, it says it needs to sync. Wait while the sync proceeds, then when it gets to the end, returns me to the sign in screen.

I do have an iOS 12.2 update that is pending, will attempt to have it run and then will attempt again.

Had this same problem had to update to IOS12.2 on my iphone 6s and it fixed the problem.

Am having the same problem. Have IOS12.3 installed. That is the latest update. Has anyone else seen this with 12.3?

Here's my situation, which sounds like has not been resolved for other people earlier in this thread.

My details:

LDS Tools iOS app version 3.6.0; iPhone 7; iOS 12.2.

I download the most recent update from the App Store. After launching the iOS app, I sign into my LDS account, then LDS Tools immediately tries to Sync. This Sync Screen shows usual message: "Downloading -- This may take a couple of minutes, depending on your connection."

Then the LDS Tools app immediately fails with the dialogue box: "Warning -- ChurchOfJesusChrist.org is currently down for maintenance. Please try again later. <OK>"

I tap OK, and I'm still on the Sync Screen. No amount of waiting on this Sync Screen resolves anything. Only thing I can do is tap "Stop Sync", at which point LDS Tools app redirects me back to the "LDS Account" sign-on screen where I have to enter my password again.

This process gets repeated endlessly, and has been going on for the last 4-5 months, including v3.5.3 of the LDS Tools iOS App. Was hoping the latest app update would have finally resolved this for me, but no joy.

Note: I can successfully sign into lds.org on desktop successfully, and can access all the LCR stuff there (LCR tools, ward directory, calendar, etc.). So I am confident there is nothing wrong with my account.

Deleting the LDS Tools app from my iPhone, powering off my iPhone and rebooting, reinstalling the LDS Tools app has not cleared up the issue.

Please advise.

This issue started happening at about the time the URL for church stuff changed from lds.org to ChurchOfJesusChrist.org. I think it may be a URL redirect or update issue. Just a theory.

Sure wish they would fix it or explicitly tell us to not sync on Sunday and simply block the sync. In the mean time, I cannot use the newly renamed Member Tools app all Sunday because it is locked in a sync loop.

I have been having the same problem for the last week with android phone. I either get "username or password incorrect" or just get bounced back to sign in page. Username and password work fine on my windows computer. Ideas???!!!!!

SOLVED a similar issue:
I could sign in fine with my Windows computer but using my android phone I would get "user name or password incorrect" or get bumped back to sign in page. Because I usually use Chrome to sign in to my church account I :
1) went into Chrome settings,
2) found "saved passwords"
3) eliminated all saved passwords associated with all LDS-related accounts,
4) navigated to churchofjesuschrist.org
5) re-entered my normal username and password and
"VOILA'," account sign-in worked! Hope this helps someone.

I found out from support that version 3.5.3 is no longer supported for LDS Tools. I have a phone at iOS 10 and I am not willing to upgrade to iOS 12. So LDS Tools will no longer sync on my phone.
