apparent duplicate account / neither accessible

Initial LDS registration failed due to last step inability to input phone text message.
I again tried to register but message was password & sign in were already in use.
So completed a new registration with new sign in & password including code and was told
the registration was complete. However, when church membership number and birthday were
entered, the message was there was an account with that current information.
Is it possible to get the first attempt to register erased / deleter so registration can be completed?

Accounts that haven't been verified in 72 hours are deleted automatically.
