No EFT details exist for this Participant for the Payment Type selected. Please select a different Payment Type

I am trying to do an expense on LCR to a member who is already paying tithing online and set up. I get this message and have gotten it several times for the same situation- "No EFT details exist for this Participant for the Payment Type selected. Please select a different Payment Type or request the Payee to add their EFT details via the Online Donations system." Does anyone know what I can do so that I can process on LCR? Thank You!

You can't do anything. The payment recipient needs to log into the online donations site, click on Settings, and designate an expense reimbursement account.

Paying tithing online does not configure the member for EFT reimbursements. They will need to be paid by check until a reimbursement account is set up.

In order for a member to be able to receive a reimbursement the member must setup a bank account specifically for reimbursement. Making online tithing donations is not sufficient. However, if the member is setup for online donations then it only takes a few clicks to setup the reimbursement account. Note also that each member must set up the account themselves. If one spouse is setup that doesn't mean the other is as well.

Specifically, the member needs to go to the donation tool (https://donations.churchofjesuschrist.org), click on Settings on the left side of the screen, scroll down to the Expense Reimbursement Account section, click on the “Add Reimbursement Account” blue button and complete the requested information.

Hints (short of quick conversion) as how to set up a non-member (landlord) for EFT reimbursement? I have routing and checking numbers, and have (I believe) checked the correct boxes under Donations/Settings/Reimbursement, but still get the error message when trying to enter expenses for approval.

I don't think it is possible. EFT reimbursement is set up to reimburse church members who use personal funds for church expenses. You are talking about a distribution of welfare funds. I have been out of the clerk role for about a year now, but unless something has changed recently, welfare payments must be a paper check issued to the recipient of the funds.

At least at present that is just not possible. You have to use a check.

However we here in the UK are fortunate that this has been an option for a couple of years now.

I am sending this text message to our ward members:

We are unable to process the expense reimbursement request you submitted electronically with your phone due to the error message "No EFT details exist for this Participant for the Payment Type selected. Please select a different Payment Type or request the Payee to add their EFT details via the Online Donations system." This is what you need to do: https://www.gavinhollinger.com/2021/10/ ... tails.html

I know I'm resurrecting a dead thread, but I was all set to send out gavinh's instructions to stake members, then I stumbled across this video:

I'm not sure that video is accessible to everyone. I tried to watch it without logging in to my church account and I got a forbidden message.
