The video Sacred Funds, Sacred Responsibilites was developed under the direction of the Presiding Bishopric. An email that our Area Audit Committee sent to the Stake Audit Committee stated that the video is to be watched during each audit period (that is twice a year). Those watching it must be together while watching it and must have a discussion following each segment of the video. The process is modeled on the video with Elders Ballard, Soarez, and Causse having a discussion between each segment. It is well done, of course, and will remain in the Record Keeping section of the Help Center probably for many years. Get used to viewing it.

We had our local audit yesterday, and received an email 3 days prior from our auditor, with the request to meet and watch it together before the audit. So a somewhat-similar situation where local leaders were made aware of this requirement last-minute. We squeezed it in (fulfilling the letter of the law), but had other pressing issues so couldn't discuss it (missing the intent, perhaps). Perhaps other Stakes are more pro-active in giving a heads-up.

My actual question regarding the video is that it sure seemed like it was intended for a Stake President & Bishop's Council. So wondering if anyone on this thread had this type of meeting, or is everyone's experience simply watching it at the unit level?

My questions:
- Is the older finance training video now obsolete?
- Is the assistant clerk for finances supposed to attend bishopric meeting so all may view it together?

I thought it was on point for bishops, counselors, and clerks. We did discuss and made sure we were following the procedures it talked about. I appreciated the clarity around the discussion of fast offering use, use of government assistance, responsibility of family for support, etc.

I feel the most important point of both financial training videos is that two people should be opening and verifying the donation envelopes, and two people should be transcribing the donation slips into MLS. I see all too often two brethren doing these tasks at the same time to speed things up. In my ward, I hang around after the block so I can be a third witness. I would rather catch a data entry error at the time of entry, than months later. I don't care how much experience you have, we all make mistakes. Having someone look over your shoulder can be a life saver.

I saw it done at a bishopric training meeting held by the stake. Since it is to be viewed every six months, and since there are a limited number of training meetings (1 to 4) during the year, I expect that the wards and branches will be on their own for future viewings.

Does anyone know if this video is available to watch in Spanish? I'm a clerk in a Spanish-speaking branch. The video is not available from the Finance, Help, Financial Training Videos as it it on the English site. I also searched the name of the video in Spanish but didn't find anything. Thank you.

We were just audited and our auditor said yes, the bishopric must watch it together every audit period.
