How to verify the authenticity of Gospel Library APK?

I've struggled to download Gospel Library from Google Play since it pops up a notification that my device isn't compatible with the app version. Thus, I have to sideload a Gospel Library APK file instead. However, I'm still wondering about the authenticity of the APK files as lots of them are possibly tampered with for malicious purposes. Is there any way to check that the Gospel Library is exactly identical to the original app from Google Play? *Can't wait to receive your answer*

Maybe a better question is if the older GL apps will still sync or get updated content such as Ensign or General Conference.

Unless the minimum requirements have changed, it appears you have quite an old phone. I'd be keeping an eye on the sales for a replacement. You don't have to get an expensive "flagship" phone. There's a number of inexpensive options.

What version of Android are you on? The current version of Android Gospel Library (Gospel Library 5.3.2), which is available on the Google Play Store and Amazon Appstore, supports Android 5 and up.

In this day, anything pre-5 would be like Windows XP. It might be nice and comfortable, but it's badly out of date. I think it's been something like 5 years since it got a security update.
