Lost all MLS users
One of my ward's MLS now shows no available users, and no one can log in. We thought this might have something to do with the restriction on the number of users/roles that was implemented this week, but I suspect it's more than that. Any solution other than reinstalling MLS?

Re: Lost all MLS users
The quickest fix is to restore a recent backup, but to do that you may need to reinstall MLS, which is not a lengthy process either.
There is an outdated Wiki article, but before using it, I would call the Global Service Center first. I believe most of the file locations have changed.
This problem is most often caused when MLS is not properly shut down. The login/password file is the last to be saved, and if the program is aborted by improperly using the top right red X, or there is an unexpected loss of power, the logins usually go away.

The wiki does work. I've used it twice in the last couple of months.

Thank you, I found that wiki article, lot's of good information there. I'll have to look at that next time; I didn't know there was a way to restore a backup without logging in. I went ahead and reinstalled MLS before I got these responses. Of course, it took 15 minutes to download the installer because our internet service is so bad. And I had to install it 3 times -- the first time I forgot to uninstall it first, and the second time the uninstaller didn't remove everything. Finally I removed the files manually and it installed fine. Glad there is support on Sundays now, as I had to get a token reset (forgot to copy that file). It's been a long time since I've done a computer install/upgrade.

We have a different problem. during this lock down we have had a change in Branch President, and the old ones login is gone and we don't seem to have an administrator account so we can give the branch president and a new counselor access to MLS. suggestions?

Re: Lost all MLS users
There are typically two administrators per unit. Those are the bishop/branch president and the ward/branch clerk. The stake/mission stake technology specialist or stake clerk should have also created an administrator account for these specific reasons. Contact your stake clerk for assistance.emmett wrote:We have a different problem. during this lock down we have had a change in Branch President, and the old ones login is gone and we don't seem to have an administrator account so we can give the branch president and a new counselor access to MLS.
