According to this article from Google, there will be no additional charge for using Google Meet with a G Suite Enterprise or Educational account through 9/30/2020.

The price I quotes was G Suite Enterprise. At the time I looked, you had to have Enterprise to get the 250 limit.

Regardless, it's not completely free. At something like 30,000 wards, that can add up to real money read quick.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

The link I provided above supersedes the traditional feature set for each class of G Suite by extending the Enterprise conferencing tools to ALL levels of G Suite through the end of September.

However, I can see what you were mentioning above about cost. As explained HERE, each additional Enterprise G Suite user adds $25/month to the church's tab, unless they made some temporary bulk arrangements with Google that we don't know about. So as was mentioned, only subscribe to the service if you really need to.

Speaking of which, there are MANY companies offering free video conferencing tools. Here's a nice summary:

One of the features that catch my eye is live streaming for up to 100,000 participants.

I couldn't make that work. The capability to create the 'view only stream' is not enabled, at least not for me (I'm a Stake Technology Specialist).
It would be nice for steaming meetings where there are multiple presenters, much like a Zoom Webinar.
