Discussions about the Leader and Clerk Resources on lds.org.
I have just been called to serve as the ward Email Communication Specialist and I would like to know what my calling responsibilities are and I could not find them anywhere on the church website. When I try to access training for my callings, only pieces of training for another calling will show.
On the Access table I see that stake YM and YW presidencies supposedly have access to Send a Message, however I have heard that our stake YW secretary cannot send messages but the stake YM secretary supposedly can. Can anyone shed some light on this?
The Access Table isn't clear if secretaries are included – but usually when it comes to tool access, I would expect a secretary to have the same access as other members of the presidency. Here are a couple of things you could check:
1) Does the stake Young Men secretary have another calling that would give him access (for example, a high councilor)?
2) Is the stake Young Women secretary recorded in her calling in Leader and Clerk Resources? Is she able to access any ward or stake tools, or any sections of Leader and Clerk Resources? Is she signing in with her own Church Account (rather than her husband's account, for example), and does she have her membership record number correctly associated with her account at Account.ChurchofJesusChrist.org > Membership?
Samuel Bradshaw • If you desire to serve God, you are called to the work.
And make sure both are using their own accounts and not their spouse's. I've seen a couple of times where someone uses their spouse's login "because they see more".
I also know it's been reported that sometimes a leader with multiple callings, when they log in it defaults to the "other calling". If the leader then switches to the desired calling inside LCR, that enables access to the desired functionality. Just something else to consider with the Stake YW Secretary.
