Play hymns with words being sung?
I think it would be helpful for virtual Sacrament Meetings to have the hymns being played include voices singing to support people singing at home. It would also be very helpful for those who don't sing to hear the words sung.

The Sacred Music app (Android and iOS) has both "Words and Music" and "Music Only" recordings of the hymns.

Re: Play hymns with words being sung?
When we resumed Sacrament meetings on July 12th, we skipped opening and closing hymns altogether. I suggested to the bishop that I could play hymns with voices using the app, connected through the crab box to the sound system. We did that for a couple months, and then fell back to just having the hymns played on the piano or organ, with no voices. Some folks did not like to listen to the canned vocals, but I kind of liked it.
Since I run the Sacrament broadcast for those at home, I always "present" the sheet music of the hymns as they are played, so those at home can follow along. During the ordinance itself, I mute the mic and leave the sheet music up for those at home to read and ponder.

Is it available in the Windows app? They are broadcasting our virtual sacrament meeting from a laptop.

Re: Play hymns with words being sung?
Our ward has found it better to use a cell phone and a crab box for the hymns and then hand that task to someone else. He found the workload was a little too much to try and handle the webcast (if it was having any problems) and the hymns at the same time.

Re: Play hymns with words being sung?
I considered using the same computer that runs the broadcast to also play hymns. However, I did not want to risk any stray sounds coming from the computer being sent to the sound system. I also wanted to avoid a sound feedback squeal.
So I used an old, deactivated Android phone to play the hymns and vocals using the app through the crab box. No stray sounds. No audio feedback.
