Please read the post that's two posts before yours. The one from "bartj".tkendall1 wrote:Same problem here: eight out of 10 activations worked fine. But the other two are throwing the “user not exist“ error. All attempts to resolve with Zoom have been futile. The AI chat bot can’t get past not having the host code, and the support phone is unresponsive. Church headquarters will not entertain questions pertaining to this account. Maybe when enough of us complain, somebody with authority will contact zoom and get them to fix the problem.

Re: Church provides a new Zoom Account to local units
I was successful setting up all my accounts except two that continue to give the "user not exist" error, the same as several others on here. This isn't a transfer, but using new email addresses...same process for each of our 9 units and 7 work and two fail with the "user not exist" error after receiving the email and setting it up.
Are we ok to use the MS form survey for these cases as well? And somehow note it is not a transfer?
Best,
Mack

Re: Church provides a new Zoom Account to local units
I requested a zoom account for our stake. Our Executive Secretary, before he claimed the license deleted the current zoom account that we had with that email address and then he tried to claim the license and got User not exist. (1,001). I have tried to remove the request, but now get "Error: Unable to remove the Zoom Account. Zoom has temporarily suspended changes to this account. Please try making the requested change again in approximately 10 minutes.Contact Zoom or click here you continue to experience issues and need assistance."
Is there a way for you to remove the request so that I can request a license again for that email address so that we can request the license again?

Re: Church provides a new Zoom Account to local units
Hi,
I couldn't find another path to resolve the "user not exist" error that I'm getting on two out of our nine unit signups, so I went ahead this morning and entered these into the Forms link (described a few posts back) even though they are not really transfers, but new emails. Hopefully this is the best path to resolution as I haven't yet seen any other ways to address it.
I'd welcome any additional guidance on how to best resolve the "user not exist" error.
Best,
Mack

However, every time Zoom wants to contact the account manager, they're going to send an email that can only be read by whoever has StakeName@gmail.com. From what I'm reading here, that include calendar items.
- Created a new gmail account (Master Account) for the stake. StakeName@gmail.com
- Created 10 gmail aliases of that new StakeName@gmail.com account. i.e. StakeName+UnitName@gmail.com
(the plus sign is part of the name, and email from all email addresses are managed in the Master Account INBOX)- Created a new Zoom account for each unit (including the stake), one new Zoom account per email address/alias.
I'm thinking a better plan is to create a separate gmail account for each unit and turn over that account to whoever will be managing zoom (along with the zoom login).

Re: Church provides a new Zoom Account to local units
If it's just "noise", then no big loss.
Our stake presidency has "position" gmail accounts that are turned over to their replacement. At this point, I'm not sure what the procedure will be to turn over the account to someone else. So, a "positional" email might be a good idea.
Also, it dawns on me that it may not be a good idea to attach it to a personal account, since that would probably prevent them from having a free zoom account to help manage some aspects of Zoom they might use for other purposes (work, school, personal, etc.)

Re: Church provides a new Zoom Account to local units
At the start of the pandemic every ward in our stake called an assistant stake technology specialist to help with ward-specific technology needs. A zoom account assigned to the ward is definitely a ward-specific technology need. It would be nice if those assistant stake technology specialists were empowered to manage all the aspects of their responsibilities, like setting up and owning the zoom account the way they prefer.russellhltn wrote:However, every time Zoom wants to contact the account manager, they're going to send an email that can only be read by whoever has StakeName@gmail.com. Re: Church provides a new Zoom Account to local units
The IT infrastructure isn't there. While the ATS may be called to assist a particular ward, there's no way to indicate that in the current system. ATS rights are stake-wide. Therefor, there's no way to limit each ATS' management to their own unit's accounts.bphilli7 wrote:It would be nice if those assistant stake technology specialists were empowered to manage all the aspects of their responsibilities, like setting up and owning the zoom account the way they prefer.
I think the product managers had concerns about more than one person doing the managing. That would explain why only the STS can do it. (The system certainly has had enough issues. Just imagine if you added a half-dozen cooks to the kitchen.)
But once the STS links the unit with an email (and it goes successfully), the STS doesn't need to be involved. A one-time setup, and they need not be involved unless there's a need to cancel the license.
Long term, I would like the see ATS get assignments, so network access is only for "their" building(s) and not the whole stake. But I don't expect that any time soon.

My calling is assistant technology specialist and I can only see the google meet account. Should I see the Zoom sign up as well? Also, the document posted in the first post says the STS can sign up other accounts. The links in the document take you to Zoom. Are there other instructions on how to do so?

The standard calling is Assistant Stake Clerk - Technology Specialist. Anything other than that will grant nothing.Claiming the new Zoom accounts requires the "Stake Technology Specialists".
