Research and learn how to use breakout rooms which will allow all meetings to be held at once and can allow members to go between rooms.khansen188 wrote:This is great news. When I told my bishop about this, he wondered how many meetings the account would be able to host concurrently. Basically, would this account be able to have multiple meetings going on at the same time? Today we had about 5 meetings (2 priesthood, 2 young women, and relief society) going on at the same time, but all limited to 40 minutes. Will this account be able to schedule those at the same time and just allow others to be the host of the meeting?

One caution about holding simultaneous meetings - make sure the families have the devices, bandwidth, and space in the home to do that.

I have not yet received anything officially either. I only know about this because I haunt this forum. Leaders and clerks started contacting me today.craiggsmith wrote:Any reason why I as an STS have still not received the letter? I got caught off guard by bishops who have already received it.

Same here, however, I found the letter HERE. (Your calling will determine if you can see it or not.)lajackson wrote:I have not yet received anything officially either.
It was dated Dec 11, 2020 and addressed to: General Authorities, General Officers, Area Seventies, and the following leaders in the United States and Canada: Stake, Mission, and District Presidents; Bishops and Branch Presidents; Stake, Ward, and Branch Councils; Stake Assistant Clerks—Technology Specialists, and Assistant Technology Specialists.
Not sure why STS's didn't get the word, but at least you can read now what your leaders received.

Can Assistant STS's create Zoom accounts? This is what I got when I tried to create one.

Submit the email addresses through the feedback tool in the portal if you can. We have run into several email addresses Zoom won't transfer but we don't know why. We will escalate accounts in this state to Zoom for resolution. This is a Zoom issue that we cannot resolve.jepthy wrote:I am getting the “Cannot create Zoom account “ error on several email addresses, and at least one is a paid account.
When I tried an email address with a free zoom account on it, there was no error.

No. As noted earlier, at present it has to be the STS, i.e., Stake Assistant Clerk -- Technology.hertzdogg wrote:Can Assistant STS's create Zoom accounts?

Transferring the account should work regardless of whether it is a free or paid account. As noted in a previous post, for some reason Zoom is not transferring certain email addresses. You can either use different email addresses or submit the emails that won't transfer through the feedback option in the meet portal. We will escalate these to Zoom in hopes that they can resolve the issue.russellhltn wrote:According to Transfer Local Unit Zoom account to General Church account, that shouldn't be an issue. But perhaps that only works if it's a paid account and not a free one. Or, perhaps that account is already associated with another "group" (such as a group account for an employer).torriem wrote:Yes it appears that you must use an email address not already associated with a zoom account. So basically this means we may have to create gmail accounts for the wards. A lot of folk already have zoom accounts associated with their personal email addresses.
Can you find out what kind of account is already associated with that email address?

Unable to login to Zoom account after enrolling in local unit .
After enrolling my email address for my Zoom with the local unit account I was unable to login to Zoom. I would get the error message "You cannot log into your Zoom account using this method. Contact your IT Administrator for instructions. (2,025)" Previously I would log into Zoom using Google. After switching to another email account I was able to enroll that address into the local unit Zoom account with no problem. I've verified that the local unit Zoom account will not authenticate using Google, only by using an email address and password. I had a Bishop that had the same problem I did and the resolution was the same.
