We are looking to do ASL and Spanish in our Stake. What solutions are people using to do these types of languages utilizing our Church provided Zoom accounts? Any help would be awesome.

The Zoom account allows for interpretation if you turn it on. The interpreter listens to and watches the English program. His audio interpretation is sent by Zoom to an audio channel that any viewer is able to select.

ASL is trickier because it is visual. You would need to stream a second video channel for that one.

How accurate is the Spanish? We are finding the CC is helpful but it can be way off at times also.

Zoom is not doing the translation. Zoom is just supporting the user of an interpreter.

As an aside, Zoom translation can of course also work in the opposite direction. So you can provide a Spanish and an English audio channel. If an English-speaker is talking, then the "Spanish translator" speaks as well, and the Spanish audio channel hears that. And if a Spanish-speaker was talking, the "English translator" would speak and those on the English audio channel would hear that translation.

This really only makes sense for a purely virtual meeting, where everyone can select their translation language. And it doesn't really apply to your situation where ASL is also desired. So take it for what it's worth...

I think the trick there is to create a co-panelist so user can select to watch that person.

A quick web search shows various tips, but not from Zoom itself.

Definitely try it before the big day.
