Can no longer install, open, delete app

While having syncing problems I ended up uninstalling the app. Now I’m in a state where it thinks the app is installed (in the App Store my only option is to open the app, which doesn’t do anything) but the app doesn’t appear on any on my screens so I can’t “uninstall” it. I’m at a loss for what to try next. Any thoughts or suggestions?

You may have removed the app from the home screen (instead of deleting the app). You could try going to iOS Settings > General > iPhone Storage, scroll down to and tap on "Tools", and delete it from there. Or, you might be able to delete it from the iOS App Library (after the last screen when you're swiping through your iOS home screen).
