The announcement was made today. I imagine that any additional information will be forthcoming soon.

With everything that is already posted here at the Forum, you may wish to begin looking through other options technology specialists have been using and decide if anything fits your fancy. As far as I have heard, the Church is not replacing the webcast system. They are doing away with it.

Hopefully they will suggest something like YouTube Live or similar for us to use.

They mentioned Zoom Webinars as one of the options. Lower quality video, but very reliable.

Yes, Zoom Webinar is the option they suggest, however, it takes a bit of work to get there. If you want to use Zoom and you have a video encoder, such as the Teradek VidiU (or equivalent), just disconnect it because it can't stream to Zoom. Zoom will only accept streams from their own clients. This means you'll need to get an HDMI to USB3 video adapter that can feed the A/V signal to a notebook PC running Zoom.

There are alternatives that don't require additional hardware, such as streaming to YouTube Live (free), Sunday Streams (paid), or several other services. For these, your video encoder will just need to point to their servers instead of the Meetinghouse Webcast system. No other changes needed.
