Mobile deposit for checks
Most of our members use online donations, but we have a few who still prefer to submit checks. Would it be possible for the financial clerk or bishopric to get access to the BofA mobile deposit? This would also allow us to retain the checks in case there ever was a dispute.

Re: Mobile deposit for checks
No, deposits must be made to a physical branch with the actual check. The church does not use normal accounts for deposits in the US. Instead they use what's called a deposit concentration account that just funnels the money to the church's actual account (which last I knew was at Zion's bank). So these accounts can't be used like normal accounts.
However, an image of the cancelled check is available on the expense detail screen in LCR if there is ever any question about the check.

Images of checks written by the unit are available in LCR. However, images of donor checks are not and have never been available in LCR or elsewhere other than from Church HQ if there is an approved need; then they have the ability to send it as a secure email to the unit leader.eblood66 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 27, 2021 7:09 pm No, deposits must be made to a physical branch with the actual check. Also, regarding the OP, retaining the original checks at the local unit level would be a serious data security violation.
