Combined Age Primary Classes But Still Split into Two

#1

Post by mkmurray »

Our Primary Presidency recognized a situation where two adjacent age groups would be quite unbalanced if going off the normal age rules. For instance, we are trying to create CTR 5/6A and CTR 5/6B classes instead of CTR 5 and CTR 6. If left to the default, the size of one class would be much larger than the other one. So the idea is to combine the age groups and then create an arbitrary split of memberships at the presidency's discretion and inspiration.

However, it appears I am having trouble figuring out the right sequence of combines and splits so that both classes believe they are enforcing both 5 and 6 year old age groups. I always seem to end up with either all 5 years old marked as out of default class or all 6 years olds marked as such. I was hoping by combining the age groups, I could then split how I wanted; but the system assumes a split of a combined 5/6 is automatically 5 and 6.

I hope that is making sense. It appears what we would like to do is not supported today and we'll have to settle with the asterisks. But please let me know if someone knows of a different sequence that achieves two split classes accepted both 5 and 6 year olds. Thanks in advance.

You can't combine a split class with another age group. You will need to just assign them to the classes you want them in and accept that some of them are going to be marked as being out of their default class assignment.
