Few days ago I upgrade my Ubuntu to 9.1.0
Then I try to watch TechTalk with Rhythmbox and no chance to do it.
After reading many forums, and many try, on it I realize that is a Gstream bug (officialy granted).
So I decide to install Totem reader and ... :) I can see video into Firefox (3.5.5) tab or directly with Totem.
Godd audio but poor video. It's so unfocused that I guess presentation's text.
Is this a choice to reduce bandwidth?
By the way, I looked at WMV file!

You aren't alone on this, it's the same for me. I gave up trying to watch it as it was too blurry for me to read anything.

Because the video is so blurry, is there any chance
the powerpoint presentations used will be released ?

I've talked to AV and there probably isn't much that we can do to improve the quality. This is because it was recorded to dvd and since there was some editing that had to be done from the original before it could be posted the quality was reduced. If there is an improved version I'll post it as soon as possible.

I'll also have to look into the possibility of posting the slides. I'm not sure if that will pass review.

My question was only for tech purpose. Curious to know if it was a problem of my reader.
Now my curiosity is satisfy. Thanks.

for those having trouble on linux, copy the link for the audio and open vlc, then in vlc go to media -> open network stream.

On the address input field paste in the audio link from the website.

Mac issue - Downloaded .asf file does not connect - says file type is invalid

I cannot see the techtalk unfortunately on my Mac OS 10.6 OS (intel) using Safari 4.0.4.
I tried renaming the file to .mp4 (instead of .asf) and it says the file is invalid type.
I Installed Silverlight, and Flip4Mac and tried viewing it again both to no avail giving the same message.
Also the mp3 audio doesn't kick off for me in iTunes as well. :(

Has anyone had success streaming the mac version? It seems some people can, but most can't. It's a problem AV is working on. However, using the flip for mac using the windows stream should work.
