Zoom Enterprise Account Admin

Who manages the enterprise account for Zoom? They need to reach out to Zoom support to request the enablement of HD for the presenter and the attendees. Zoom has to do this on the backend. Can we get this enabled? Below is a transcript from Zoom support.

AGENT (Emmanuel E.*): I understand that you would like to request the enablement of the HD feature for both you and your attendees in a Webinar.
AGENT (Emmanuel E.*): I know that this will make their experience better when attending your conferences.
AGENT (Emmanuel E.*): Allow me to try and assist you with this.
USER: thank you
AGENT (Emmanuel E.*): Upon checking, you are currently under an Enterprise account as a member.
AGENT (Emmanuel E.*): To enable/request the enablement of this HD feature, you may reach out to your account administrator.
AGENT (Emmanuel E.*): Enabling this will affect the entire account and all its users, your administrator may request the enablement from us to proceed.

I'm not sure, but it may be mht at churchofjesuschrist.org. I'm not able to quickly find any reference pages.

However, it's entirely possible that part of the agreement between the church and Zoom was to limit the resolution to get a good price.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

I'm the STS in my stake and I have full control over those settings using the Zoom control panel in a web browser (not the Zoom app).
In Settings --> In Meeting (Advanced) you'll find:

Code: Select all

Group HD video
Activate higher quality video for host and participants. (This will use more bandwidth.)

o Standard HD (720P)
o Full HD (1080P)
Once switched on (it defaults to off), you can select between 720p and 1080p for the maximum bitrate limit.

Same for me at the ward level. There are a couple of settings locked but HD is not one of them.

I have a ward who has a church zoom account. They have tried to login, but it's asking for 2 part authentication. They don't have access to an email that zoom is sending the access email to. Can you help me out with this?

The person who has access to the email account will need to assist. If the ward does not have access, then this will likely be the stake technology specialist.

HD works great in zoom. You just turn it on when you schedule the meeting from the portal at zoom.us

It is interesting how some units are using YouTube live to get HD video. This functionality is available in the Zoom version the church subscribes to out of the box.

It wasn't HD that dove our stake to YouTube Live, but a combination of things. First, there are no user controls over the audio and video bitrates in Zoom. Sure, you could turn on HD and get a reasonable 720p30 picture with around a 2Mb/s bitrate, but that was about it. The audio was especially poor with the organ sounding like music digitized over a poor cellphone connection. (Some suggested improvements to Zoom audio have been discussed elsewhere in the forum.) During Covid, Zoom was struggling to supply ample bandwidth to the huge customer surge they experienced, so they limited the BW of webcasts to keep as many customers reasonably satisfied as possible. At the same time, YTL had scads of servers on tap to meet the extra demand of Covid, which meant we could upload our meetings in 8K at 100Mb/s if we desired to do so. (Of course, we didn't push it near that far.) Finally, the simplicity of using the free Larix Broadcaster app on a single cellphone to livestream a webcast from our ward buildings made the decision to use YTL easy.

Our stake's Single Adult ward has chosen to use Zoom Webinar to for their sacrament meeting. Since they don't meet in the stake center, their setup and teardown takes a bit of time each week, but they're good with that. Our stake (like the church) is happy to let each unit decide how they would like to webcast their meetings.

Thanks for the response. We used the church webcasting system to the very end so we didn’t experience the Zoom issues you are describing. Certainly many are trying YTL so perhaps we should give it a try as well. Thanks

We use YTL because it will accept the feed from the VidiU encoder. Zoom will not. Sometime in the future when the encoder fails, we will reevaluate that decision.
