I am trying to manually grab the file to upgrade our MLS system.
You need to contact your stake technology specialist for help. The password isn't given out in the forum. If you are the STS then contact your stake clerk for help.

Has anyone had a case where MLS is still at 3.0.3 because 3.1.0 or 3.1.1 did not download? I am going out Wednesday to investigate a claim that this is the case at one of our units.

The only thing I can think of is that they did not allow the download to take place. They would have to have done that by disconnecting the phone line, I think. Although the line is a 14.4 kbps line, and maybe the download timed out.

Or perhaps they just logged out before the download completed?

Curious.

I haven't seen it happen but if they only have a 14.4 line I would copy the latest release from mls.lds.org and load it that way. Teach the clerk how to install updates that way in the future and could save a lot of headaches.

I'm curious how individuals are getting this information. After completing the update to 3.1.1 today, I looked at the MLS release notes and there was nothing noted for 3.1.1 (only for 3.1).

Well, in my case I saw the letter to leaders announcing the form and have been looking for it in MLS ever since. And, it finally showed up.

In most bigger releases of MLS, we will turn off the patch during the middle of the day on Sunday for a few hours so we don't overtax the servers. This may be the reason some of your units didn't patch up. The patch is unrestricted now, so any send/receive should patch.

My questions is why?
This is a problem for those units that are on high speed connections and using a Church provided hardware firewall. By having the firewall, you are, in essence, on the Church network. This message was put there to avoid having testers put test data into the production network. We are going to change this in a future build. For now, if you just hit yes, it will go through without a problem.

Hope this helps.

Interesting evening at the stake center last night (Wednesday). After another Send/Receive, MLS was still at 3.0.3, and all we had for our efforts was a popup note that our MLS version was out of date and we should immediately upgrade.

Yet another Send/Receive failed to upgrade MLS. I thought it was curious that we had the popup note but no upgrade. The note said if we were having problems we should contact our STC and he would order a CD from the Church for us.

So at that point, after consulting with myself as instructed, I pulled out my trusty flash drive and plugged it in. Everyone was very happy when I told them they did not need to reboot yet again.

I am getting reports that a few of our other units still are not upgrading. I guess I need to go on a week-long road trip again. I suppose this one should not wait until our next regular visits in January because of, among other things, the quarterly report update.

It might be noteworthy from my posts below that I had to do several Send/Receives before the popup didn't show anymore and the software was actually updated with a request that I reboot the machine.

In a twist on that scenario, I had done a full install of MLS 3.1.1 on our stake computer, but last night when I did a Send/Receive I still got the popup message saying that MLS 3.1.1 would be installed. As near as I could tell, no software was downloaded, and I certainly wasn't instructed to reboot, but the message was pointless and somewhat confusing.

UPDATE: Upon further review, it appears that you did already report this behavior as well:
