Category for Temple is Missing on Donation Slip

The category for temple construction is no longer showing online when making donations. Furthermore, there is no longer a category for temple construction on the donation entry screen of the clerk finance dashboard (meaning, if someone in the ward turns in a paper donation slip with a temple donation, there is no way for the clerk to record it under a temple category). Basically, there is currently no way to make donations for temple construction. Are we done building temples?

We are grateful for the continued faithfulness and generosity of members of the Church worldwide. To simplify the donation process, the following changes are being implemented:

• A new donation category called “General Offerings” will be created and made available through Online Donations and Leader and Clerk Resources (LCR) as well as added to the printed donation slip. The “General Offerings” category will be used in lieu of categories such as “Book of Mormon,” “Temple Construction,” “Perpetual Education,” and others (these categories have been discontinued). This change will allow members to contribute to a general donation category that will be used under prophetic direction to meet a variety of ever-changing needs as they emerge.
• The “Other” category will be renamed “Local.” All current amounts in discontinued “Other” categories will be mapped to approved categories.
• “Authorized Member-Financed Activities,” a category currently under “Other,”will be discontinued.

These changes are intended to simplify the donation process for members as well as streamline the recording of donations by ward clerks. Ward leaders should communicate these changes to ward members as appropriate. Instructions regarding the discontinuation of “Authorized Member-Financed Activities” will be sent separately.

A similar statement was posted on LCR Finance for about a week. It is not displayed any more.

Well I spoke too soon. The message is there again in a yellow background on the LCR > Finance Dashboard.

There is also a message at the online Donations page that explains to the donor that such a contribution would go into the General Offerings category.
